My name is Mrs. Chavez and I have been teaching in Etiwanda since 2004. I have taught 8th grade math and science, 6th grade math and science, and 7th grade language arts and social studies. I went to St. Mary's College. I traveled in Europe and was actually stuck there during 9/11. I love being a mom to my two man cubs, teaching, riding horses, going camping, and going to the beach.

My name is Carrie Ann Routh Neault, and it is my pleasure and honor to work with your students each day.
I have been teaching in the Etiwanda School District since 2017. I have been teaching 8th grade Language Arts & Social Studies the entire time and I absolutely love it.
I have been teaching since 2011. My educational experience involves tutoring K-12 Language Arts and math, 7th grade Language Arts student teaching, K-12 substitute teaching, Chaffey College writing tutor, Adult School High School English, and independent study Charter High School English. I have my Single Subject English Credential and my Multiple Subject Credential. I have worked in the Corona-Norco Unified School District, Fontana Unified School District, and Learn4Life Charter Schools in Moreno Valley and Rialto.
I was raised in Rancho Cucamonga. I went to Cucamonga Middle School, Alta Loma High School, and Chaffey College. I earned my BA in English Literature from CSU San Bernardino. I earned both of my teaching credentials from CSU San Bernardino. I earned my Masters in Teaching from Cal Baptist University. My husband and I are parents to our two sons, Noah, who was born February 2021, and Logan, who was born April 2022. Being a mom is my greatest joy. We have three pups. I love to travel, read, watch Netflix, go camping, or work on my house. My husband and I have a goal to visit as many of the National Parks as possible and all 50 states.
I have high expectations for my students and expect their partnership this year. Respect is an integral part of my classroom. Each is a unique individual and is capable of great things. It is my goal that your student not only be successful academically, but also grow into a well-rounded contributing member of society. I look forward to forging a partnership with your student and with you, the parents. I strongly believe education is power and it is my goal to help each student achieve success. I want all of my students to achieve literacy, be successful, and be self-sufficient citizens of the 21st-century global world. Financial literacy refers to the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources. It is the ability to understand the pros and cons of a money decision, weigh the costs, and confidently decide what to do. It equips you to seek out the answers you need in order to make a good financial decision.
A financially literate person also understands how common personal finance products work, like checking accounts and credit cards, as well as how costs like interest and fees are calculated. Some of the core concepts of personal finance include understanding how credit works, how to budget, and how to invest.
Financial literacy knowledge lays a foundation for students to build strong money habits early on and avoid many of the mistakes that lead to lifelong money struggles.
As a nation, we’ve seen where a lack of personal finance education can lead. Millions of Americans struggle every day with their money, living paycheck to paycheck and relying on credit cards for necessities, only to wind up deep in debt. Many Americans are finding that they can’t buy homes, invest for retirement, or save for their child’s college fund because of their own student loan debt, massive car payments, and general lack of financial planning.
Through financial games, BrainPOPs, application, discussions, and projects, this class will focus on: budgeting, banking, interest, debt, credit cards, loans, investing, mortgages, supply & demand, recession, & owning a business.
