Hello

Olivia Tawekjian

(Miss Tawekjian)

Hello! Welcome to 8th grade ELA and Social Studies. I studied at the University of La Verne, and earned my Bachelor’s in Educational Studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with language certifications. I am now finishing school to receive my Master's Degree in Education emphasizing in Adolescent Development at the University of La Verne. I grew up in the Etiwanda School District myself, and am proud to say I’m still a part of this amazing district and family. I attended Etiwanda Colony Elementary School, Summit Intermediate School, and Etiwanda High School.

I come from a family of educators so I like to say that teaching is in my blood! My mom is a retired teacher (also from the Etiwanda School District) and she now helps my dad, John, with his mechanic shop and business. My younger sister is currently completing her undergrad at the University of La Verne to also be a teacher. We love to travel together, go to Disneyland, and have game and movie nights!

I strive to make learning engaging and fun using a positive and accepting classroom environment with lots of collaboration and teamwork. I hope that your students all look forward to coming to school! I am excited to build meaningful relationships with all of my students, parents, and families to best serve everyone this school year. I am big on parent communication, so you will be receiving two emails a week from me! One will be a weekly newsletter of what is happening each week (Mondays) from my partner Mr. Rogers and I, and the other will be a missing assignment report (Fridays) so that you can keep up with your student's missing assignments if they have any. Please support your student in their education at home!

Please be sure to have access to your email to receive important updates about upcoming events or assignments happening in class and on campus. I can't wait to learn more about all of you throughout the year. 8th grade is going to be a blast!
